Mussar | Facilitated by Dr. Yoram Kinberg
12:45 p.m.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Mussar is a Jewish spiritual practice that involves self-examination through the exploration of various character traits (middot) such as humility, gratitude, kindness, anger, patience, and forgiveness.  We each deal with these traits in different ways, and therefore we each have a unique spiritual curriculum.  The goal of Mussar practice is to make us a better mensch, more attuned to ourselves, but just as importantly, to others.   Our “textbook” for the class will be Everyday Holiness --The Jewish Path of Mussar by Alan Morinis.  The practice is simple, yet challenging. This class meets regularly on Zoom.

Chesed Class with David Wien                                                                                                                                                                                                             3:30 p.m.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             This group meets weekly on our regular Zoom link.  As Jews we have an obligation to participate in Tikuun Olam, repairing the World, and the World certainly seems to be in need of repair. This year a new element has been added to the curriculum - AGING GRACEFULLY.  We’re learning how to enhance our lives so that we’re happier and more successful at reaching out to our fellow neighbors here in Tucson. It’s about making the World a better place for all of us.  Anyone who is interested, or even curious, is welcome to join. Check it out. You have nothing to lose, yet a lot to gain.



 Thursdays                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Beginner Plus Hebrew with Morah Rita                                                                                                                                                                                      10:30 a.m.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          This class is geared towards those who are just beginning to get the hang of Modern Hebrew, and will use the newspaper 'Bereshit' from Hebrew Today. Those who want to participate can get their own 6 month subscription. Class will meet weekly in the Beit Midrash. If you have any questions about which Hebrew class is appropriate for you, please contact Morah Rita directly.

Fridays                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Prayerbook Hebrew  with Morah Rita                                                                                                                                                                                         11:00 a.m.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          This is a class for anyone who can read Hebrew and wants to learn basic grammar and vocabulary for the Shabbat morning service, meeting weekly on the regular Zoom link. We will use the book "Prayerbook Hebrew, the Easy Way " by Joseph Anderson et al., and include lessons about the structure of the service, and discuss the meanings of many of the prayers.
