8:00 AM - 9:30 AMCongregation Bet ShalomJoin us for morning minyan and a siyyum followed by a seu'dath misva.
A siyyum (Hebrew: סיום) (“completion”) is the completion of any unit of Torah study, or book of the Mishnah or Talmud in Judaism. A siyyum is usually followed by a celebratory meal, or se'udat mitzvah, a meal in honor of a mitzvah, or commandment. Siyyum also refers to the celebration.
It has become customary for synagogues to arrange a siyyum on the morning before Passover to allow those fasting for Ta’anit Bechorim (Fast of the Firstborn) to break their fast, taking advantage of the halakhic principle that prioritizes Torah study.
